emir taha’s ‘Off Days’ Carries A Vivid Sense Of Fusion

It's an expression of gratitude...

emir taha returns with new single ‘Off Days’.

The Brixton based artist embodies a unique sense of fusion, blending his Turkish heritage with a deep love of pop and R&B forms. Moving between Turkish and English language lyrics, he seems able to craft something wholly original.

Signed to Polydor Records, new single ‘Off Days’ carries an inner sense of strength. The fusion has become more subtle, yet also more pronounced, with emir taha working with real confidence in his songwriting.

A song about the need to support one another, the vocal is tender and true. He comments: “‘Off Days’ is about that someone who loves you and supports you through your lowest, toughest times, even when you don’t have the energy to show them how much you love and appreciate them…”

He expands on this, explaining: “When you’re going through a phase when you feel really down and depressed, most people around you stay away until you get back on your feet but some choose to be with you through it all. Those who stick by you are the ones who truly care about you and don’t mind carrying your burden when you don’t have the power. ‘Off Days’ is my way of expressing how grateful I am for those people.”

Out now, ‘Off Days’ could be his most affecting moment yet; alongside this emir taha has also shared a live performance of the song, shot for COLORS.

Tune in now.
