Eminem To Re-Unite D-12

Rap troupe to reform

One of the most popular groups in rap music is to reform with the news that Eminem is to work on a new album with D-12.

After a break of some four years, Eminem has certainly re-discovered his creative edge. Having suffered from depression, drug addiction and writer’s block the rap icon re-entered the studio last year, and since then has enjoyed an almost uninterrupted flow of music based mischief.

Sessions with Dr Dre produced the recent smash hit album ‘Relapse’. Hailed by many as a sparkling return, Eminem’s first album in four years followed lengthy bursts of recording. In a twist, the rapper could yet release another album before the year is out.

‘Relapse’ was preceded by the rapper’s new single ‘We Made You’. A blast at celebrity culture, its hilarious video lampooned the likes of Jessica Simpson and Amy Winehouse, with the track racing up the charts.

However Eminem still had an ace up his sleeve. A performance at the MTV Movie Awards was followed by a spectacular prank in which the comedian Sacha Baron Cohen landed ass-first on the hip hop stars face.

In another surprise move, Eminem has revealed that he intends to reform the Detroit rap collective D-12. Speaking to the US TV show Rap City he broke the news that the group would re-unite for another album.

“Me and the guys, we got a bond, it’s special,” he said. “It’s like, as far as the future of D-12, we’re gonna be back in the studio soon.”

Eminem also spoke of his friend and fellow D-12 member Proof, who was murdered in 2006. The ‘Relapse’ star recently revealed that the death of his friend sent him spiralling into a deep depression.

“I think this is what Proof always wanted,” he said. “For me to go crazy again.”
