Emerging Icons Academy Launches

New scheme for young talent

The Emerging Icons Academy has launched, aiming to pit an unknown act with a world famous producer.

The internet may have increased communication, but for most young acts the problem is still getting noticed. Hopefully, the Emerging Icons Academy can give a few deserving new artists a boost.

Launched in co-operation with Unsigned Band Review, the Emerging Icons Academy is a talent search with a difference. Aiming to focus on complete unknowns, each artist will be set a series of tasks which they will then have to fulfil.

The winner will be selected by a panel of judges, with the artist then being paired off with award-winning producer Sacha Skarbek.

Responsible for several hugely successful albums, Sacha Skarbek will work alongside the winner to produce a full EP.

Kat Jackman created the project, and had the following to say: “It is a tough world out there for artists because they need to be savvy in many areas other than just the music.”

“The Emerging Icons Academy is set to equip them with tools and tips that will no doubt help them within their career whether or not they get to work with Sacha. I have chosen contributors from the industry who are highly experienced in working with established acts across different areas including A&R, song-writing, management, social media and PR.”

Focussing purely on unsigned talent, the Emerging Icons Academy also stipulate that each entrant must write their own songs.
