Elton John Wins Historic Emmy, Becomes An EGOT Winner

Elton John has won a historic Emmy award.

In a night of surprises and triumphs, Elton John took home an Emmy at the 44th annual awards ceremony. The English singer scooped the trophy for Outstanding Variety Special (Live), lauded for his triumphant 2022 Disney+ special Elton John Live: Farewell from Dodger Stadium.

Part of his record-breaking farewell tour, Elton John Live: Farewell from Dodger Stadium was a spectacular three-hour broadcast, pieced together alongside Disney Branded Television and produced by Fulwell 73 and Rocket Entertainment.

Offering fans a front row seat at his bid adieu to North America, the show receives huge ratings, and gained massive critical plaudits.

Scooping an Emmy, Elton John is now part of the vaunted EGOT winners – artists who have won an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar, and a Tony.
