Elmiene Covers Jeff Buckley’s ‘Lover, You Should’ve Come Over’

A beautiful rendition...

Much-tipped songwriter Elmiene has shared a cover of Jeff Buckley’s ‘Lover, You Should’ve Come Over’.

The song first appeared on Jeff Buckley’s debut album ‘Grace’, and has long been a favourite of the UK artist. Elmeine has enjoyed an incredible year, including two beautiful EPs and a stunning performance on Later… with Jools Holland.

Closing 2023 on an emphatic high, Elmiene teams with producers Jack Penaté and Simeon Jones on this new cover. ‘Lover, You Should’ve Come Over’ is a languid, highly sensual experience, the crisp production allowing the emotion of the vocal to shine through.

“I chose Jeff Buckley because ‘Lover, You Should’ve Come Over’ feels like the perfect gateway into the kind of music and emotions I want to express in my next project,” says Elmiene. “This cover is the first chapter of next year’s book.”

Out now, ‘Lover You Shouldn’t Come Over’ comes with a visual directed by Ciesay (co-founder of Places+Faces), with creative direction from Cam Hicks.
