Ella McRobb Opens Up On ‘First To Apologise’

Tune in now...

Emerging voice Ella McRobb shares new single ‘First To Apologise’.

The songwriter recently supported Paris Paloma on some key UK shows, while also appeared as part of the Amazons’ live set-up on a flurry of sold out dates. Taking time out to focus on her recorded work, new single ‘First To Apologise’ finds Ella re-establishing some boundaries.

Out now, it’s a beautifully etched song, with the melodic twists and turns carrying a hidden sense of assurance. Lyrically, she’s learning to put herself first – it’s difficult at first, but it’s a necessary step in personal growth.

A wonderfully open piece of songwriting, ‘First To Apologise’ finds the 23-year-old reaching a space of catharsis. Ella McRobb comments…

“‘First To Apologise’ is a song about being stubborn and fed up of apologising first just to diffuse a situation and to make things easier. I wrote it at a time I felt I wasn’t in the wrong and didn’t want to apologise just for the sake of it. It’s a cathartic song that’s taught me to stand up for myself and not always put other people’s feelings ahead of my own. I’d encourage anyone else to do the same, even when it’s the harder thing to do.”

Produced by Hugo M. Hardy (Nieve Ella, Sfven), you can check it out below.
