Elbow Re-Release Debut Album

'Asleep In The Back' to be expanded

Bury band Elbow are due to re-visit their debut album ‘Asleep In the Back’ with bonus songs and live tracks.

Elbow’s victory in the Mercury Music Prize has had an incalculable effect on the band. It seems as if all the public needed to take the band to their heart was a little push, with ‘The Seldom Seen Kid’ becoming a massive chart success.

Near constant touring brought its own artistic rewards, with Elbow teaming up with orchestras for spectacular one off shows in Abbey Road and their hometown of Manchester.

Another of the pleasing aspects of their new found fame is the impact this has had on their back catalogue. Fans new to the wonders of Elbow have searched through the band’s past, discovering delights such as ‘Asleep In The Back’.

Released in 2001 the album was a massive critical success. Nominated for the Mercury Music Prize Elbow sadly missed out on the main trophy, but earned a strong reputation as one of the country’s finest songwriting outfits.

Now it seems that Elbow are ready to re-visit their debut album. Released on October 26th the new deluxe edition will present restored sound alongside a raft of new material.

The new version of ‘Asleep In The Back’ will come equipped with a series of live recordings and bonus tracks. In addition to this the DVD will feature videos, home movies and live footage from the time.

The album will come bundled with the ‘Noisebox’ EP released around the same time as ‘Asleep In The Dark’.
