Mercury award winners Elbow have finished their acclaimed UK tour with a very special hometown performance in Manchester, which featured a guest appearance from Guy Garvey.
The band released their album ‘The Seldom Seen Kid’ earlier this year, and were a popular choice to pick up the Mercury. Elbow have just completed a massive UK tour, which has seen them play to rapturous applause each night.
Elbow played Manchester Apollo last night (October 30th) and Guy Garvey seemed aware of the emotions surrounding the occasion. “The press are calling this our ‘lap of honour’ tour, and it couldn’t be happening in a better place on earth – Manchester.”
The band were joined by Richard Hawley for a version of ‘The Fix’ and singer Garvey introduced him by saying “we met on a flight to Tennessee. We drank a lot, played battleships – that’s the kind of guy I like!”
