Efterklang's new documentary, 'The Ghost Of Piramida', premieres at the Danish CPH:DOX film festival on November 1st.
Following on from the release of their latest album 'Piramida', Efterklang have hooked up with director Andreas Koefoed to create 'The Ghost Of Piramida'. The documentary follows the Danish band on their visit to the Russian mining town that they took the name for their album from. Accompanied by a polar bear guard, the band go on a treasure hunt around the abandoned town while the narrator, a former citizen of the once flourishing mining community, recounts stories of Piramida's past.
This isn't Efterklang's first foray into the world of documentary making, back in 2011 they made a 50 minute performance film with French director Vincent Moon. Titled 'An Island', the band developed an innovative Private-Public Screening system whereby anybody could host a free screening of the film as long as they had a minimum audience of 5 people. In 2 months 1,178 Private-Public Screenings were hosted all over the world; expect similarly innovative ideas when 'The Ghost Of Piramida' hits our screens.
The official trailer for the film hasn't been released as yet but you can watch the album trailer, also directed by Andreas Koefoed, below.
