American indie rock institution Eels will release new album ‘Eels Time!’ on June 7th.
The band spend much of last year on the record, toasting their second Best Of compilation ‘EELS So Good: Essential EELS, Vol.2 ‘. The end of 2023 saw Eels reignite their semi-regular festive tradition, sharing new belter ‘Christmas, Why You Gotta Do Me Like This’.
This year brings a new Eels album – their 15th to date, in fact – with ‘Eels Time!’ set to be released on June 7th via E Works/Play It Again Sam.
An all-new 12-tracker, it kicks off with the plangent acoustic single ‘Time’ – a moment of reflection from songwriter E, it finds the band musing on adulthood, and grappling with maturity.
As ever, Eels’ pop suss comes to the fore – a master of the lyric sheet, E’s ability to spin incredible melodies reigns supreme, even after all these years.
