New album due on March 25th
Edwyn Collins

Edwyn Collins is set to release his new album 'Understated' through AED Records on March 25th.

Edwyn Collins doesn't like to sit still. A vastly experienced producer, songwriter and now label owner the Scottish artist seems to throw himself into each new project with near boundless energy. Completing work on a fresh batch of new material, Edwyn Collins recently signed off his latest studio album.

'Understated' is set to be released on March 25th, housed by AED Records - the label partially run by Collins himself. Self-produced with assistance from long time studio partner Seb Lewsley, the album features ten original tracks and 'Love’s Been Good To Me', a Rod McKuen cover.

Joining Edwyn Collins in the studio are musicians such as Barrie Cadogan (Little Barrie, Primal Scream), James Walbourne (The Pretenders, Ray Davies, Pernice Brothers, Dead Flamingoes), Carwyn Ellis (Colorama, The Pretenders), Sean Read (The Rockingbirds, Dexys), David Ruffy (The Ruts, Dexys) and Paul Cook (The Sex Pistols).

A video has emerged showing Edwyn Collins at work in the studio. Watch it below (via The Quietus).
