Arriving via no small amount of blog hype, Echo Lake took their time when constructing debut album ‘Wild Peace’.
A beautiful record, it was rightly lauded by critics but its release was tragically over-shadowed by the death of drummer Peter Hayes.
Piecing themselves back together, Echo Lake began to think about a follow up. Seemingly a more muscular, dense and mature effort than their debut, new album ‘Era’ will be released on March 2nd.
New track ‘Waves’ is online now. More evolution than revolution, Echo Lake retain the shoegaze influences which peppered their debut LP but there’s a far wider, more expansive sense of sound.
Reference points include space rock cosmonauts Spacemen 3, with ‘Waves’ stretching out past the six minute mark. An imposing return, the marker has been set high for the band’s new album – listen to it now.
