Eagles Of Death Metal Dropped From French Festivals

Eagles Of Death Metal have been dropped from several French festivals following claims made by singer Jesse Hughes.

The frontman spoke to Fox Business Network earlier this year, discussing the November 13th Paris at the Bataclan music venue.

The singer appeared to suggest that some form of collusion had taken place between the terrorists and security staff at the venue.

Following an outcry Jesse Hughes issued a further statement, labelling these comments “absurd and baseless”.

However a new interview with Gavin McInnes in Taki's Magazine has seen the rock star re-iterate his earlier claims.

The interview has caused enormous controversy, with Jesse once more claiming that security staff in some way co-operated with the terrorists. At one point the singer says:

"I saw Muslims celebrating in the street during the attack. I saw it with my own eyes. In real time! How did they know what was going on? There must have been coordination."

As a result, two French festivals have immediately dropped Eagles Of Death Metal from their bill. The Rock en Seine concert in Paris and the Cabaret Vert festival in northern France have issued a joint statement, reading in part:

Being in total disagreement with Jesse Hugues’ recent allegations given in an itw with an american media, both Cabaret Vert & Rock en Seine festivals have decided to cancel the band’s performance. We thank you for your understanding.

Eagles Of Death Metal have yet to make further comment.
