Dutch Interior Cling To Sanity On ‘Sandcastle Molds’

It's kind of “a fucked up Fleetwood Mac song...”

Rising West Coast six-piece Dutch Interior have shared new single ‘Sandcastle Molds’.

The band are based in LA county, and melt together jagged indie rock tropes – think early Pavement, or The Fall – with something more melodic, and accessible. Minute pop songs packed with information, Dutch Interior signed to key label Fat Possum earlier this year, sharing a new single in the process.

Moving forwards with alacrity, new single ‘Sandcastle Molds’ is out now and it pivots between lush, guitar pop aspects and something more surreal – “a fucked up Fleetwood Mac song,” as the band put it.

“This song grew from the realisation, while driving down the 405 after a long night, that I might be losing my edge,” songwriter Jack Nugent explains. “‘Sandcastle Molds’ deals with holding on to your sense of self as the world descends into madness at a nauseating pace. How does one hold on to hope when the state of all things seems to be in rapid decay?”

A timely absorption with the decaying of the modern world, ‘Sandcastle Molds’ comes equipped with an intriguing new video.

Tune in now.
