Dua Lipa Announces Live Lounge Special

A 30-minute broadcast...

Dua Lipa has recorded a special Live Lounge broadcast for the BBC.

The pop icon returns with a new album this week, with her LP ‘Radical Optimism’ due to be released on May 3rd.

“A couple years ago, a friend introduced me to the term Radical Optimism. It’s a concept that resonated with me, and I became more curious as I started to play with it and weave it into my life,” Dua shares. “It struck me – the idea of going through chaos gracefully and feeling like you can weather any storm. At the same time, I found myself looking through the music history of psychedelia, trip hop, and Britpop. It has always felt so confidently optimistic to me, and that honesty and attitude is a feeling I took into my recording sessions.”

The full CLASH review is incoming, and Dua will showcase the album with a one-off BBC broadcast.

The Live Lounge special was shot at the historic Maida Vale Studios, with host Clara Amfo chatting to Dua, before making way for a series of performances.

The full tracklist includes ‘Illusion’, ‘Training Season’, ‘Happy For You’, ‘Be The One’, and a cover of Cleo Sol’s ‘Sunshune’

Dua Lipa says: “I’m so happy to be back in the Radio 1 Live Lounge. I love coming back and being in here, it feels like a full circle moment. It’s so nice to have new songs to perform, new stories to tell, and a whole new world to dive into.”

Dua Lipa Live Lounge Special will broadcast on BBC One on Monday (May 6th) at 11.15pm BST and will also be available to watch on BBC iPlayer. It will also be played on BBC Radio 1 at 7:30pm BST on Tuesday (May 7th).

Looking ahead, Dua Lipa will headline Glastonbury this summer, before playing a special headline show at London’s historic Royal Albert Hall on October 17th.

Tickets for the show are on sale now.
