Dre Rules Out Tupac Hologram Tour

In video message to fans

Dr Dre has ruled out any possibility of taking the Tupac Shakur hologram out on tour.

As everyone on the planet now knows, Tupac Shakur make a guest appearance of sorts at this year’s Coachella. During a spectacular performance, Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg were joined by a holographic image of the late rapper.

Cue global Twitter bedlam and the inevitable question of a tour. Music Week reported that further shows could be likely, quoting Digital Domain CEO Ed Ulbrich as saying: “Dre has a massive vision for this”.

However a new video has emerged to quash those suggestions (via NME). Dr Dre was filmed backstage at Coachella, thanking fans in the audience and at home for taking part in the much dissected performance.

Dre said: “It was strictly for Coachella. Get it right. I want to get rid of all the rumours out there. This was not done for a tour. If a tour happens, we’ll see. This was done strictly for Coachella 2012, baby. Just for you”.
