Dr. Rachel Owen – academic and former partner of Thom Yorke – has died.

The two were romantically linked for 20 years, and had two children together – Noah and Agnes. Owen studied art at the University of Exeter, where she first met Thom Yorke.

Taking her PhD in Dante's The Divine Comedy, she later became a retained lecturer at the University Of Oxford.

Despite her partner's global fame Dr. Rachel Owen lived a quiet life, recently exhibiting a series of prints based on Dante's work.

The two split last year, with the event underpinning much of the material on Radiohead's studio album 'A Moon Shaped Pool'.

Dr. Rachel Owen worked at the University Of Oxford's Pembroke College as an expert in medieval Italian literature, continuing her research despite developing cancer.

Pembroke College confirmed news of her passing at the weekend, posting a full obituary notice online.

Our thoughts are with her friends and family.
