Dr John is streaming new cut ‘Revolution’ – taken from his upcoming album ‘Locked Down’.
Dr John is a legend. An absolute, utter legend. Yet in ‘Locked Down’ the New Orleans musician may just have delivered his finest album in decades.
A collaboration with Dan Auerbach, the set uses younger musicians and finds Dr John being pushed into new arenas. Yet the Night Tripper’s persona still shines through, with ‘Locked Down’ sitting easily amongst his back catalogue.
Taken from the upcoming LP, new track ‘Revolution’ is a sizzling piece of soulful rock. As ever, the laid back New Orleans’ rhythms come to the fore but the production is raw, and the performance feels (a)live.
