'Compton' of course comes as fans still debate the near-mythical status of 'Detox'. Long stuck in development hell, Dr. Dre revealed his own take on why the release didn't happen – it simply wasn't good enough.
"I didn't like it. It wasn't good. The record, it just wasn't good. … I worked my ass off on it, and I don't think I did a good enough job."
So that's that.
