The Weeknd has released new mixtape ‘Echoes of Silence’ as a free download.
Toronto producer The Weeknd – an alter ego for Abel Tesfaye – has quietly stolen critical praise in 2011. Releasing two mixtapes, the producer has had an insidious effect on new music without ever troubling the record racks.
Released as free downloads, ‘House Of Balloons’ and ‘Thursday’ showcase an artists of stunning invention. Completing the trilogy, The Weeknd has unveiled details of a new free download mixtape.
‘Echoes Of Silence’ is available now, and features a few surprises. Fellow rising talent – and mixtape fan – Clams Casino works with The Weeknd on ‘The Fall’ while the whole shebang opens with a rendition of the Michael Jackson classic ‘Dirty Diana’.
Containing nine tracks, ‘Echoes Of Silence’ is another step forward from the Canadian producer. As The Weeknd recently said on Twitter: ”i hope they don’t hang me for my decisions on #echoesofsilence.”
