Download: Pete And The Pirates Demos

New material due

Pete And The Pirates have re-launched their website with a number of free demos available for fans.

Hailing from Reading, Pete And The Pirates were amongst the most superior of post-Libertines indie poppers. Adding a self-deprecating pop touch to the scratchy indie template, the band’s early singles marked them out as talented songsmiths.

A debut album followed, with tracks such as ‘Come On Feet’ becoming indie dancefloor staples. Taking the bulk of the summer off to craft new material, fans are becoming impatient for a possible second album.

Now Pete And The Pirates have surprised fans by re-launching their website. Given a spring clean, the new site also boasts a number of demos including early, rare and unreleased material.

A good pointer for their new material, the batch of demos launches a series of new downloads from the site. Pete And The Pirates are close to completing their second album, which is due to be released on Stolen Recordings.

Meanwhile, the band are planning to break cover for a series of headline shows. Pete And The Pirates are due to return to London venue Bull & Gate for a one off performance as part of the pub’s 30th anniversary celebrations.

Taking place tonight (September 1st) the show will be followed by a visit to the continent. Pete And The Pirates will headline Into The Great Wide Open in the Netherlands, before playing headline shows in Germany.

Moving through Austria, Romania and more Pete And The Pirates are due to return to the UK as the year draws to a close.

Continuing to work on the second album, new material is due for release shortly.
