Sufjan Stevens has made a preview track from his new album available as a free download.
After a lengthy period of silence, Sufjan Stevens has suddenly burst into life. The singer released a new EP earlier this summer, with the producer uploading ‘All Delighted People’ to his bandcamp account.
Cutting out any label interference, Sufjan Stevens released the lengthy EP. Containing six tracks, the release nonetheless ran to some 40 minutes delighting fans with a host of new ideas.
With over 12,000 downloads in its first week alone, the new EP demonstrates just how revered the songwriter remains.
Continuing to work on new material, the American songwriter is close to completing his new album. ‘The Age Of Adz’ is set to be released later this year, marking his first full length in some five years.
Released through Asthmatic Kitty, the new album brushes away pre-conceived notions about his career to date. Sufjan Stevens has thrown away his love of concept albums, focussing instead on songs.
Teasing fans with a series of previews, new track ‘Too Much’ is a six minute electronic epic. Available to download from Sufjan Stevens’ Bandcamp page, you can grab the track by clicking HERE.
The new track follows on from ‘I Walked’. Extremely varied stylistically, the two tracks demonstrate Sufjan Stevens contrasting approach to songwriting.
Due for release on October 11th, ‘The Age Of Adz’ is available to pre-order now. As a special bonus for fans, anyone who pre-orders the album will be able to claim a digital copy two weeks early.
