French synth gurus Phoenix have celebrated their return by giving fans a new track for free!
Phoenix are formed by four French musicians keen to make a sophisticated and ultimately modern type of pop music. Forthcoming album ‘Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix’ is a glorious blend of synth styles that defies it convoluted recording history.
To make it, the French quartet worked in the Parisian studio of 19th-century Romantic painter Théodore Géricault, chartered a houseboat on the Seine, and stayed at the Bowery Hotel in New York.
Pieced together from multiple sessions, the new album nonetheless hangs together like a complete work. Perhaps the group strongest statement to date, Phoenix plan to whet fans appetites with new download ‘1901’.
Released yesterday (February 26th) the track has already blasted across the blogosphere, becoming one of the most talked about songs on the internet.
