British Sea Power have surprised fans with the release of a free track from their new album.
British Sea Power are masters of surprise. Head along to a live show and you’ll a group of indie mavericks who mix elements of their back catalogue with oversized drums, clothes from the 1930s and a nine foot dancing bear.
Preparing to release their new album, British Sea Power have laid a careful trail. Earlier this year the band broke cover for a British tour, taking a limited edition EP along with them.
Containing offcuts from album sessions, the EP was an impressive return. Recorded in the English countryside, forthcoming album ‘Valhalla Dancehall’ follows the Mercury nominated success of ‘Do You Like Rock Music?’.
With an amplified production, British Sea Power attracted praise from areas previously though resistant to their charms. ‘Do You Like Rock Music?’ is the band’s most successful effort to date, and the follow up is one of 2011’s most anticipated albums.
