Efterklang are giving away their new track ‘Apples’ as a free download – grab it below.
An always fascinating proposition, Efterklang’s latest album is staggering even by their own high standards. Inspired by an abandoned Arctic mining township, ‘Piramida’ uses found sound, abandoned technology and more to craft something genuinely inventive.
Out on September 24th, the Danish group recently decided to give away another quick preview. Taken from the album, ‘Apples’ is an idiosyncratically formed piece of songwriting, gently evolving on its own terms.
Here’s what the band had to say:
“‘Apples’ was one of the first songs we wrote for the album after our return from the trip to Piramida. Like many of the other songs on the album ‘Apples’ is inspired by the cycle of human creations – that being creations like an entire city left to decay in the Arctic or the cycles of our interpersonal relationships in life. ‘Apples’ is mainly a song about letting go of love in the attempt of finding it again.”
