Domino Records have crafted a new free download iPhone app which features radio shows, new material and more.
The growth of technology is changed the way we experience music. The phenomenal success of the iPhone means that users can flick through their record collections while chatting to a friend in some far flung country.
The future? Seems like we’re there. Domino Records have decided to embracing the evolution of technology by launching their own application, which will include radio shows, new material and more.
The idea was born from the success of Domino Radio. An online based venture, the station brought together some of the best known figures from the label’s rosters and a selection of admirers.
Containing shows from Robert Wyatt, Arctic Monkeys’ Matt Helders, Kieran Hebden and more Domino Radio was a massive success.
A specially curated selection of Domino Radio output forms the spine of the new app, with the label throwing in some exclusive bonus material. The new download contains more than 200 streamable tracks from the Domino catalogue, all of the label’s videos and the most up to date gigs listings technology can provide.
All told, the Domino app will feature:
– An exclusive selection of Domino Radio material which will change each week
– A mix of over 200 streamable tracks
– Domino’s entire music archive
– A tailored news feed focussing on Domino’s roster
In addition to this, anyone who downloads the Domino app and signs up to the label’s mailing list before November 1st will be entered into a free prize draw. The winner receives a year’s worth of free music from the label, the equivalent to 12 free digital albums.
