Glasgow indie pop dons Belle And Sebastian have decided to give away a new track as a free download.
Belle & Sebastian have always done things differently. Emerging at a time when Britpop was at its peak, the band’s breezy indie pop was a thoughtful, literate riposte to the bluster of Oasis et al.
Scooping a BRIT award in hilarious circumstances, the band have matched an enduring cult following with a profound normality. Set to return later this year with a new album, Belle & Sebastian have begun the countdown to fresh material.
Releasing a message to fans, the band confirmed that they are set to give away a new track from their forthcoming album ‘Belle And Sebastian Write About Love’. The title track will be given away as a free download from their official site.
‘Write About Love’ is available now, with a stream featured on their official site. For a short time only Belle & Sebastian will make the track available as a free download, before removing it from the site.
The official release of ‘Write About Love’ will come on October 25th. Preceding the new album, Belle And Sebastian have also decided to give a new track to one lucky fan.
Followers on Twitter have been put into a new ballot, with one lucky winner gaining a free mp3 from ‘Belle And Sebastian Write About Love’. The draw will take place later today (September 7th).
“It is the winner’s choice what to do with it,” the band wrote. “They can keep it to themselves in the knowledge that no-one else has it; share it with their friends; hold a listening party at their home or they could let the world either hear it or read all about it online.”
