Beady Eye have made their new track ‘Bring The Light’ available as a free download.
Walking away from the ashes of Oasis, Liam Gallagher was in a far stronger position than many realised. The frontman had blossomed as a songwriter, contributing heavily to the band’s final album.
Earning hit singles in his own right, the singer simply rolled up his sleeves and started a new group. Travelling to Italy with guitarist Gem Archer, the pair brainstormed about the new project, working on influences.
Naming themselves Beady Eye, the group are completed by fellow Oasis exile Andy Bell and a new drummer. Working on new material, the band entered the recording studio this summer to lay down some tracks.
With their debut album next year, Beady Eye have decided to release a new track as a free download. A dramatic introduction to the group, the band have made ‘Bring The Light’ available to download now.
Available on the official Beady Eye webpage, the track is a typically bolshy rocker from Liam & Co. More ragged than Oasis, the band lack the psych influences Noel Gallagher would bring to proceedings.
In their place, Beady Eye have a ragged rock style in common with good times band The Faces. ‘Bring The Light’ will also be available as a seven inch single coupled with ‘Sons Of The Stage’.
Due to release their debut album next year, Beady Eye are just one of Liam Gallagher’s many new projects. The singer is also producing a film based on the Apple Records memoir ‘The Longest Cocktail Party’.
An evocation of the swinging 60s, the film intends to leave out The Beatles focussing instead on the peripheral characters. Alongside this, Liam Gallagher’s Pretty Green label goes from strength to strength with a pop up shop in Carnaby Street.
