Part of the Erased Tapes family, Douglas Dare has always sought to push himself further.
Continuing to experiment with means of recording, the producer records layer upon layer of instrumentation before re-assembling these samples in new and inventive ways.
Upcoming EP 'Caroline' / 'If Only' finds Douglas Dare stripping things back. Using raw techniques, the producer matches album cut 'Caroline' against brand new track 'If I Knew I Were Alive'.
As if that weren't enough, the EP also contains remixes from Rival Consoles and Throwing Snow. "The recording has this demo quality which I really enjoy" he explains. "I love how revealing a demo can be, it seems to expose the fundamental ideas the songwriter had and the basic quality of the recording is very revealing. One of my favourite records is PJ Harvey’s ‘4 Track Demos’ where the songs are so stripped back that you can appreciate the finest details."
