One of the finest independent labels in the land is set to turn 15 years old soon, and to celebrate Domino have announced plans for an entire weekend’s worth of events.
For 15 years Domino records has done its own thing, remaining true to their vision of what it means to be involved in the music business. The label has grown from a small one man operation, licensing classic albums by US alt rock bands like Pavement, into one of the UK’s biggest indies. Currently home to Franz Ferdinand and Arctic Monkeys, as well as left field acts such as Four Tet and MAx Tundra, Domino plays the game by its own rules.
Celebrating its birthday in style, Domino has organized a weekend’s worth of events in London’s Barbican and St. Luke’s venues. The label will host a rare gig by New York punk-funk legends Liquid Liquid, as well as avant-garde singer Juana Molina and trip hop star Tricky.
