Dom Valentino has finally shared the full studio version of his ‘Young Folks’ junglist re-work.
The producer already has incredible pedigree, working with some pivotal names in UK music. Suppling additional production to Skepta’s iconic ‘Konnichiwa’ album, he’s worked with everyone from Greentea Peng to Unknown T via Ragz Original, p-rallel, and beyond.
‘Young Folks’ places Dom firmly centre stage, and it’s a rugged take on Peter, Bjorn & John’s original. An indie disco staple, Erol Alkan remixed it at the time, but this new take moves the Swedish group in a sound system direction.
All crunching jungle breaks and heavy duty low-end, this fresh take on ‘Young Folks’ slots in neatly alongside newgen junglists such as Nia Archives.
The bittersweet essence of the original is retained, however, with Alfie Templeman and Anna Of The North tag-teaming to re-create the duet.
Already viral on TikTok – clips showing the song’s gestation have been watched over a million times and counting – we’re predicting that this one will fly.
Tune in now.
