Dolly Parton will release new album ‘Rockstar’ on November 17th.
The album is dubbed Dolly’s first-ever rock album, and features some potentially glorious collaborations. Working with a glittering cast, the country icon retools ‘Heart of Glass’ alongside Blondie’s own Debbie Harry, and covers ‘Wrecking Ball’ with god-daughter Miley Cyrus.
Other treats include a duet with Peter Frampton on ‘Baby, I Love Your Way’ and a version of the Prince classic ‘Purple Rain’. Also covering ‘Satisfaction’ by the Rolling Stones, Dolly Parton also duets with Elton John, Lizzo – on ‘Stairway To Heaven’, no less – and covers the old Lynyrd Skynyrd warhorse ‘Free Bird’.
Says Dolly…
“I’m so excited to finally present my first Rock and Roll album Rockstar! I am very honored and privileged to have worked with some of the greatest iconic singers and musicians of all time and to be able to sing all the iconic songs throughout the album was a joy beyond measure. I hope everybody enjoys the album as much as I’ve enjoyed putting it together!”
Lead single ‘World On Fire’ lands on May 11th, with the album artwork up top. Dolly has also shared some incredible tongue-in-cheek imagery – check out one alternate image below, then find the full tracklisting after the jump.
