Wastrel street urchin Pete Doherty has apparently uploaded a video of himself on the internet, playing music with cult legend Lee Mavers.
The video is shot on a home video camera, and features the pair in Doherty’s living room. Mavers plays an antique guitar and at one point jams along with himself on the harmonica. The two play little music together, but Mavers does perform a version of the La’s classic “Over” which Doherty gleefully claps along to.
Pete Doherty has often spoke of his love for the cult Liverpudlian group The La’s, who produced only one complete album in their lifetime. Their single “There She Goes” is one of the all time classics of British guitar pop, and there are countless legends surrounding both the band and maverick leader Lee Mavers.
Doherty has performed songs by The La’s live, and even recorded some on a series of solo demos released online in 2003.
