Dog Is Dead have introduced their new drummer to the world via new video ‘Hands Down’.
Hailing from Nottingham, Dog Is Dead’s arch indie found favour last year via their infectiously catchy debut single ‘Glockenspiel Song’. Touring continuously, the five piece built up considerable live muscle.
Sadly, though, Dog Is Dead have been forced to part company with their drummer. In a short statement the band wished their friend success, and introduced a new time keeper:
“Lawrence is off to drama school in Glasgow so we have a new drummer! We wish Lawrence the best of luck with everything. He remains one of our best friends and it’s strange not having him around all the time after 3 years of playing together.
The good news is that Harvey, our new drummer, is equally amazing. So everyone meet Harvey who’s in our new video for Hands Down.
DID x”

One of Harvey’s first roles in the band was to help craft a tour diary for ClashMusic. Dog Is Dead hopped on board the tour bus with Bombay Bicycle Club for a series of massive tour dates, exposing them to new fans across the country.
“Coolest venue I’ve ever been in. Barrowland looks like an aircraft hangar but with a massive roller disco-esc dance floor in the middle. A shallow stage meant I was right at the front. It might sound like every drummers dream to be chilling up front, but I found it pretty daunting. I have a new found respect for guitarists. Early night for me, I need to get more rock and roll and less ex-maths student.”
