Roll Deep mainstay DJ Target has detailed plans for new book Grime Kids.
As part of one of grime's most iconic crews DJ Target saw first hand the gestation and rise of grime, moving from London council estates to become a globally recognised phenomenon.
With Stormzy grabbing a BRIT and Wiley taking home an MBE there's no better time for DJ Target to look back on grime's gritty but inspirational story.
New book Grime Kids tells the full story of the genre and so much more, offering an insider's insight into the artists who drove the sound to undreamed of heights.
“Offering an unrivalled level of insight”, Target explains, “it will give fans the story that only a select few of us can really deliver first-hand.”
“Charting legendary stories and moments in Grime music, as well as investigating the social aspects behind the culture, my personal journey from a young Grime kid and growing up with the likes of Wiley and discovering Dizzee Rascal, to being a member of two of the most influential collectives and experiencing both underground and mainstream success with Roll Deep, through to my position today as a National Radio broadcaster on BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra.”
DJ Target is set to release Grime Kids on June 14th - pre-order LINK.
