DJ Shadow will re-issue his seminal album 'Endtroducing' on September 24th.
The album emerged in 1996 to enormous acclaim, pushing DJ Shadow to the forefront of instrumental hip-hop, and left-field electronics more generally.
A landmark for sample-led production, 'Endtroducing' is set to be re-issued for its 25th birthday.
Out on September 24th via Island Records, the 25th anniversary edition features a new seven inch boasting Cut Chemist's remix of 'The Number Song'.
In a note, DJ Shadow revealed that he has recovered the original DAT source tape, allowing this edition of the album to explore "many audible details…"
He says: “I was so happy to have recently discovered the original DAT tape that served as the final mix source of the album, and was able to provide it for the remaster just in time for this release. When comparing the new version with the old, I was shocked at how many audible details were revealed that I had completely forgotten about.”
