DJ Boring has shared his new DJ-Kicks mix in full.
Out now, the mix displays the producer’s breadth of influences, moving from slightly left-field jazzy cuts to full-on peak-time chunkers. Opening with Anthony Naples, it then moves through tracks from Patrick Holland, and South London rooted songwriter Oscar Jerome.
Hitting its stride, DJ Boring lays down releases from Sally C and Pariah, moving to a more intense sense of energy. Rounding out with a dose of new material from the producer himself, DJ Boring claims the new DJ-Kicks mix “is my personality to a tee…”
Real name Tristan Hallis, the Australia-born, London-based artist throws in new system chugger ‘N15’ (it’s the Tottenham post code) for good measure.
He comments…
“Trying to compile this put me in a pretty strange headspace. To be honest, I was trying to compile a vast range of stuff so I just needed to be on my own to focus on it. I stayed in one day and then finished it off in my studio. Then I just totally zoned in – it all came spilling out of me.”
