DJ Bone has laid out plans for a new EP.
One of the central figures in the evolution of Detroit club music in the 21st century, DJ Bone has built a stellar, profoundly influential catalogue across three decades.
New track ‘Fulmination’ is online now, his first release on freshly minted label fabric Originals. There’s more to come, too, with a full four-tracker called ‘Black Market’ landing via the imprint on October 21st.
A punchy reintroduction, ‘Fulmination’ is a system rattler, pivoting between clinical tech-edged production and synths reminiscent of George Clinton, or even early 90s computer games.
That shuddering 4/4 kick will go off in a club, but as ever there’s a willingness to step outside the norm that makes DJ Bone so sought after – he chops in and out of programming sequences, forever refusing to settle for the easy answer.
Check out ‘Fulmination’ below.
