Dizzee Rascal and comedian James Corden’s unofficial World Cup song ‘Shout’ has topped the UK Singles Chart, entering at number 1 on Sunday.
Masterminded by X Factor guru Simon Cowell, and benefiting from a performance on Cowell’s ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ Saturday teatime show, ‘Shout’ recycles an old Tears For Fears song with added rap from Dizzee Rascal and a terrace sing along chorus led by ‘Gavin and Stacey’ writer/actor, James Corden.
In the absence of an official England World Cup song, the charts were besieged by unofficial tracks with ‘Shout’ winning out. All proceeds from the sales of ‘the song are to go to Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital..
