Dizzee Rascal On Collaboration

Timbaland too expensive, he claims

UK hip hop don Dizzee Rascal has revealed that he has no interest in working with super producers, labelling them too expensive.

Dizzee Rascal has had a massively successful year. The rapper returned with his rave enhanced track ‘Bonkers’ which featured his unique rapping style over beats supplied by Armen Van Helden.

This isn’t the first time Dizzee has worked with a well known producer. Last year the rapper stormed the charts with ‘Dance Wiv Me’ which features some synth work by Scottish beat boffin Calvin Harris.

Speaking to the press at the launch of his new special edition Nike trainer Dizzee Rascal revealed that he has no interest in working with super producers such as Timbaland. “I don’t feel I should pay someone a quarter of a million” he argues, saying that “Timbaland’s not cheap. That’s a lot”.

The new trainer was produced in collaboration with Nike and will be available in a strictly limited edition. However Dizzee Rascal is also set to be busy releasing music with his single ‘Holiday’ riding high in the charts.

Accompanied by a stunning video the single has raced into the Top Ten. Asked about his most challenging video, Dizzee Rascal replied that the promo for ‘Sirens’ was among the most memorable.

“It was shot in Romania,” he explained. “It was minus-something degrees, it was like shooting a movie. I stayed up for two days with dogs and horses chasing me!”

Dizzee Rascal is set to release his new album ‘Tongue N Cheek’ on September 21st.
