Dirty Projectors Cover Bob Dylan

New single confirmed

Brooklyn group Dirty Projectors are set to cover Bob Dylan on their forthcoming single.

Dirty Projectors aren’t known for their love of classic songwriting. The Brooklyn group specialise in skewed indie rock, which takes its rhythmic cues from a meeting point between R&B and Afrobeat.

The jagged edges of ‘Bitte Orca’ soon gave way to lush harmonies, with the band’s unique voice impressing anyone who came across their music. Becoming an enormous word of mouth success, the album is set to be expanded with two new tracks.

‘Bitte Orca’ was recently given a lavish re-issue, coupled with some new material being unearthed. One new track will receive a single release, with Dirty Projectors set to tackle ‘As I Went Out One Morning’.

A Bob Dylan classic, ‘As I Went Out One Morning’ showcases the complex vocal interplay between band members. Dirty Projectors re-work the track into something quite distinct, with a single release due on December 6th.

Available on seven inch vinyl, Dirty Projectors pair the track with ‘No Intention’. David Longstreth takes the lead, with backing vocals from Amber Coffman, Angel Deradoorian and Haley Dekle.

Meanwhile, Dirty Projectors are set to travel to the UK for two special performances. The Brooklyn group will perform at London’s Koko on December 7th, finishing the year in style at the Camden venue.

Tickets are available now, with the full support cast yet to be confirmed. Meanwhile, the Brooklyn group are also set to perform at the Bowlie 2 – the upcoming ATP event curated by Belle & Sebastian.

The band will perform on December 10th, accompanied by a mouth watering array of talent including a set from Belle & Sebastian.

Dirty Projectors will release ‘As I Went Out One Morning’ on December 6th.
