After spending 2008 touring the length and breadth of the UK, Detroit Social Club attracted the attention of many different labels.
However, few predicted the band would be able to sign a deal and keep their independence. New single ‘Sunshine People’ comes out on the band’s own Stranded Soldier, in collaboration with Fiction.
Formed in Newcastle the six piece group self-released their debut album ‘Rivers And Rainbows’ last year. Selling handmade copies of the album at their shows, the band gathered a rabid fan base.
Supporting Futureheads, Razorlight and then Primal Scream the band grew used to playing ever larger venues. Returning to the studio earlier this year, the band are currently recording their debut album proper – from which the new single is taken.
