Destroyer Announces New Album ‘Dan’s Boogie’

It's out on March 28th...

Destroyer will release new album ‘Dan’s Boogie’ on March 28th.

The Dan Bejar led project are fresh from a stripped down tour supporting Father John Misty, and teased fresh ideas during the shows.

Out on March 28th, ‘Dan’s Boogie’ is their first since 2022’s acclaimed ‘LABYRINTHITIS’ full length.

A full UK tour is in the works for the record, including a London show at Islington Assembly Hall on June 12th.

The first hint of the incoming LP is online now, with ‘Bologna’ displaying Dan Bejar’s narrative thrust. Deliberately pushing himself into a back seat, the song is topped off by a dulcet vocal from Fiver’s Simone Schmidt.

Dan Bejar comments…

“I haven’t written many songs like ‘Bologna’. I struggled singing the first and third verses, the most important parts of the song. They needed gravity and grit. The threat of disappearing needed to be real. So I called Simone.”

The David Galloway directed video is framed around found-footage from degraded VHS, with the director commenting…

“How do you begin a “Dear John” letter? I suppose there are lots of online tools available to anyone with a phone that can help you get that type of thing started. In fact, you can learn all kinds of stuff with the internet. It’s amazing. How to pick locks, how to access your neighbours’ WiFi, how to meet a “challenge,” how to put on makeup. Makeup is pretty big these days, hey? You can also definitely find tips and tricks to help you start a whole new life if the one you have doesn’t seem to cut the mustard. Rather, ‘Bologna’.”

Tune in now.
