Legendary 80s synth pop gurus Depeche Mode have spoken about their forthcoming massive North American tour.
Led by Dave Gahan, Depeche Mode moved from their slight, New Romantic roots into one of planet’s biggest groups. Storming stadiums across America the band introduced rock and industrial elements to their music becoming a ferocious live beast.
In a new interview with Stateside magazine Spin, Gahan reveals the group’s forthcoming tour could involve renowned photographer and film-maker Anton Corbijn.
Gahan revealed “some of the drawings I’ve seen Anton and our stage crew working on, there’s going to be a lot of light and shade and mood”.
Forthcoming album ‘Sounds Of The Universe’ is due to be released on April 21st. Gahan revealed the band are planning to open their shows with the album’s opening track ‘In Chains’.
“There’s something about that song that’s really about how the album unfolds” he said “it’s very filmic.”
Depeche Mode begin their North American tour in July.
