Depeche Mode Prepare Tour DVD

'Live In Barcelona' due shortly

British electro-rockers Depeche Mode have confirmed plans for a live DVD taken from their recent world tour.

2009 was a momentous year for Depeche Mode. Arranging their latest world tour, the dates followed on from the success of their recent album ‘Sounds Of The Universe’.

However the tour was not to run smoothly. Collapsing onstage, Dave Gahan was rushed to hospital where it was discovered that the frontman had a small tumour in his stomach lining. Dates were postponed, with fans left understandably nervous about the situation.

Yet after a straight forward operation Dave Gahan was pronounced fit and was able to begin the tour once again. A memorable occasion in more ways than one, the shows emphasised the size and scale of the modern Depeche Mode live experience.

Captured on the new DVD, ‘Tour Of The Universe – Live In Barcelona’ represents a snapshot of the entire tour. Show over two nights in the historic Catalonian city, the band used the Palau St Jordi venue.

Taking place last November, the show was an epic occasion. Due to be release in three different formats, the DVD will be available as a special four disc instalment which includes the complete live show.

In addition to this the extended version contains a tour documentary, two tracks shot at rehearsals and Anton Corbijn’s specially crafted ‘Screen Films’ for seven songs recorded on tour.

The massive deluxe edition will also contain two live CDs, featuring both sets in their entirety. To complete the box set Depeche Mode have included four promotion videos from the ‘Sounds Of The Universe’ album.

Also due to be released on Blu-Ray, the forthcoming DVD will spread bonus features across all four formats.

‘Tour Of The Universe – Live In Barcelona’ is due to be released later this year.
