Delilah Holliday Channels The Wrath Of Mother Nature On ‘Liquid Pearl’

New EP ‘Invaluable Vol. 2’ is out November 3rd...

North London artist Delilah Holliday announces the follow-up to her ‘Invaluable Vol.1’ EP, with the prophetic lead single ‘Liquid Pearl’.

Invoking the benevolent might of Mother Earth, Holliday disarms the listener with a soothsaying vocal over an icy club-ready beat that churns to the climax. Of the inspiration behind the anthemic ‘Liquid Pearl’, Holliday says: “It references fossil fuels and global warming. I was reading about the melting of permafrost, and it freaked me out! So that made it into the song’s wider discussion.”

‘Invaluable Vol.2’, out via One Little Independent Records, is framed as both a cautionary tale and a quest for self-definition in a culture of excess and obfuscation. The seven tracks chart this journey in the context of a single night out.

Of the EP Holliday says, “The first part of the EP is very downtempo. It’s got a couple of little uppers in it, but it’s sort of introducing you to the quest you’re gonna go on. The second part is like the wild ride, and then you start going downhill. And it screeches to a stop when you remember who you are again”.
