American underground heroes Deerhunter are no strangers to solo projects, but guitarist Lockett Pundt is set to break away from the herd to release his first solo album ‘The Floodlight Collective’ on March 23rd.
Atlanta, Georgia five piece Deerhunter released their celebrated ‘Microcastle’ album this year, bagging a host of positive reviews. The band have also been touring heavily, using a stage show that often polarises fan but which Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs once described as “a religious experience”. Amen!
Lockett Pundt has been working on the solo effort for some time under the name of Lotus Plaza. For some time tracks under that name have been appearing on the Deerhunter blog, but this is the first full-length collection.
The forthcoming album will feature Deerhunter fellow-travellers Bradford Fox and Brian Foote.
