Declan McKenna has finally shared his take on ABBA’s ‘Slipping Through My Fingers’.
The songwriter performed the track during an Instagram Live – remember them? – back in 2021, and it almost immediately gained a strong cult following. Declan McKenna himself thought no further of it, but enterprising fans uploaded it to TikTok – where it promptly took off.
The clip has now racked up over 475 million views, which is absolutely extraordinary. With new album ‘What Happened To The Beach?’ set to be released on February 9th, Declan has decided to give fans what they’ve been asking for – a lil bit o’ ABBA.
Out now, his rendition of ABBA’s ‘Slipping Through My Fingers’ remains neat, fresh, and self-effacing – faithful to the original, but with a different energy.
