Dean Blunt and Inga Copeland are to sever ties with Hype Williams – but the project is set to continue.
An often confusing, always inspiring art project, Hype Williams are one of the most provocative elements of British bass music. Led by Dean Blunt and Inga Copeland, rumours continually surround the role of manager / svengali / agent provocateur Denna Frances Glass.
This morning (August 12th) a new posting appeared on the SoundCloud account marked 'cplnd' – which usually hosts material from Hype Williams as well as solo projects from both Dean Blunt and Inga Copeland.
Confirming that neither musician was still involved in the project, it concluded by insisting that Hype Williams – in a presumably much altered form – would continue to make music.
Swiftly pulled from the web, the statement reads as follows: (via Dummy)
"DEAN BLUNT AND INGA COPELAND ARE NO LONGER AFFILIATED . PLS LOOK ELSEWHERE FOR 'INGA COPELAND' MATERIAL/
HYPE WILLIAMS 'A BULLET IN YR EYE THROWING MONEY TO THE SKY' soon Denna Frances Glass 10 August 2013"
Intriguing.
The statement comes equipped with a sparse beat titled 'ADVICE FOR YOUNG GIRLS WITH DADDY ISSUES' which you can listen to below.
