Hype Williams duo return

Dean Blunt and Inga Copeland are set to release new album 'Black Is Beautiful' on April 16th.

Splitting their time between Berlin and London, Hype Williams remain one of the most frustrating groups in bass music. Sure, their output definitely pushes boundaries, but the incisive sense of irony can make the band difficult for some to take seriously.

Continuing a steady flood of new material, Dean Blunt and Inga Copeland are set to release a new album under their own name. Stepping aside from the Hype Williams moniker, 'Black Is Beautiful' will be released through Hyperdub on April 16th.

So will using their own names change Dean Blunt and Inga Copeland? Have a glimpse of the press release:

"Amidst rumours circulating, and confirmed by their 'advisor' Denna Frances, the album was recorded during a tremulous period for the two: Inga Copeland’s Arsenal girls tryouts, Dean's 'Waschbärgate' trial (he was implicated in being behind a one night robbing spree across 16 taxidermists based in London and the South East, allegedly only for racoons) and his subsequent conversion to Nation of Islam upon being acquitted."

Dean Blunt and Inga Copeland have also confirmed a string of European shows. Live appearances from Hype Williams are as rare as hen's teeth, with the upcoming list including what could well be their first ever appearance on Scottish soil.

Part of a warehouse party at SWG3, the show takes place on March 23rd. Alongside this, the duo will perform one off dates in Lisbon, Bordeaux, Paris and more.
